In short: TrueScribe is designed to let you work without sending recordings or transcripts to us. Local processing stays on your device. Cloud processing is a choice with different privacy consequences.
1. Local app processing
When you use local models, transcription, speaker detection, translation and AI processing happen on your device. Your recordings, transcripts, edits, history and search index are stored locally and are not uploaded to us. Models may need to be downloaded before they can run offline.
2. Optional cloud processing
You may connect a cloud provider or another remote endpoint for transcription, translation, AI chat, summaries or other features. TrueScribe sends only the content needed to perform the operation, but that content may include audio, transcript text, prompts and related context. Review the selected provider's privacy policy, retention rules and terms before sending sensitive material. TrueScribe does not control how that provider processes data it receives.
3. Other app connections
TrueScribe also uses the network when you ask it to download models or remote media, and for services such as licence checks, updates and error reporting. Those services may receive technical connection or diagnostic data. They do not turn local transcription into cloud transcription.
4. This website
Cloudflare hosts truescribe.app and provides aggregated web analytics, so Cloudflare may process ordinary request data such as your IP address, browser information and the pages requested. The site stores your appearance choice in your browser's localStorage. If you follow a link to a store, checkout or another external service, that service handles your visit under its own privacy policy.
5. Your control
You can delete local recordings, transcripts, history and settings from your device. Deleting local data does not delete data already sent to a cloud provider; use that provider's controls for those requests.
